Oh man, it'd be a crazy fun deck. If only Doubling Seasons didn't cost like $12

Re: Magic: The Gathering
It makes sense The layout of the site's a little cleaner and more professional, so it looks more reliable, at least in my opinion. I tried Card Kingdom first, then I tried SCG after. They both have good quality in their delivery and service, but I have a preference for Card Kingdom, only because the cards I got from SCG weren't as NM/M as CK's, meaning there's better treatment of the cards at CK.

I figured as much. Although I do appreciate the Magic Show from Star City Games. Also have you heard of the game type Commander?

Re: Magic: The Gathering
Basically you have a deck with a leader and....here let me just copy/paste.
Commander, sometimes called “Elder Dragon Highlander,” starts with the rules for multiplayer Free-for-All games, in which any number of players compete against each other as individuals. It’s played with the Singleton format (in other words, except for basic lands, each card in your deck must have a different name), and each player starts with a life total of 40 rather than the usual 20. Most importantly, the centerpiece of each deck is a legendary creature that serves as that deck’s commander.
To build a deck, you first choose a legendary creature, called a “commander” or “general,” then construct a Singleton deck around it containing exactly 99 other cards. Only cards of the commander’s color(s) and colorless cards may be included in the deck. (Note that split cards and hybrid cards count as all of their colors.) In fact, if a card contains a mana symbol anywhere on it that’s not one of your commander’s colors, you can’t include it in that deck! Within the game, if you would add mana to your mana pool that’s a color not shared by your commander, you get colorless mana instead.
Appropriately enough for a format named after the legendary creature that’s leading your team, your commander works differently from other cards in the game. Before the game begins, each player removes his or her commander from the game. You may play your commander from the removed-from-the-game zone (no matter how it got there) for its normal costs plus an additional {2} for each previous time it has been played this way. If your commander would go to the graveyard from anywhere, you may remove it from the game instead. In addition to the normal Magic loss conditions, if a player is dealt 21 points of combat damage from a single commander over the course of the game, that player loses the game!
I kind of want to make a deck with Emrakul as my commander XDD An all colorless most likely moddular deck with mana ramp up the butt wwith urza's towers and mines and cloudposts and vesuvas. Then paying 17 mana won't be so hard . And big artifact creatures can come out early. But if we play, I wouldn't want it to be singleton...or 100 cards....

When's the next time you'll be at your mom's? If you want we can stop by some place and pick out some packs that you can build a deck out of. And then you can look through my extensive collection of rise of the eldrazi cards

Re: Magic: The Gathering
Knowing you, Matthew, you'll probably either end up going with massive creature decks that wipe the floor with everyone or a deck that basically disallows your opponent from doing anything with counterspells and the like while you get to do your own thing, aka control. Or God forbid, a combination of the two.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
Yeah Joseph and I are going on Friday if you want to come. He and I play pretty differently, too, so you can get a chance to see our different styles. He usually favors card combos with a mix of control to prevent his opponent from stopping him, while I normally go with strategic beatdown, and usually only go with 4 copies of one removal spell per deck (not a lot).

Re: Magic: The Gathering
I dunno, really. I think I'll head over to make sure FNM is at the time you say, 'cause I found on another site they host it every night at 8 with registration at 7. But if you can't go to that this Friday, you can still come down here and we can head over and chill there for a while, play some pickup games maybe, and then you can head home. And you can get your packs and I can get myself a new box and sleeves. for the bant deck.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
Well, I'm just going off this site's calendar:
http://ekcomicsandgames.com/index.php/emerald/
According to here, the Standard tournament's at 3, but the booster draft's at 8. And yeah, if I can't make it for the tournament, we'll just chill and play and get our cards and stuff.
