The Harbinger

The Harbinger clan is comprised of the most elite space soldiers around. Not as insanely buff or tall as their underground counterparts, The Brutus, Harbingers are all royal space soldiers of the King of the Universe >_>. Compensating strength with intelligence and the most technologically advanced weapons two hands can hold, Harbingers are easily identified by the seal of the royal guards on their clothing. Often called Angels, Harbingers are known for dropping into battle by long cable from space and free falling to the battlefield. Harbingers are also the most connected to the space cities, being able to access eyes in the sky for surveillance purposes, and an even greater, and are able to access a more vicious and devastating ability from the cities, of which only few outsiders know of.

Harbingers are known to be very intelligent. Although not as intelligent as a Monastery, a Harbinger makes up for this in combat. Though not wielding the superb strength of the Brutus, Harbingers compensate with their knowledge of deadly fighting styles and technologically advanced weapons. Being royal guards, all Harbingers are equipped with a beam rifle, and either wear the royal guard uniform or the seal of the royal guards have somewhere on their clothing. A Harbinger is very obedient and loyal, and will go to the ends of the Earth, whether it be literally killing themselves, losing their virginity, or killing a comrade in order to complete a mission. Harbingers frown upon all clans of the Julius that live underground, thinking of them as dirty smelly and unprivileged rodents, and often start confrontations with them if in a campaign party with them.

Exclusive Traits…

Every Harbinger upon creation is given a Supercharged Army Grade Beam Rifle. This weapon gives the character both the bonuses of a super heavy ranged and super heavy melee weapon. The rifle has a nearly infinite reach, and is ideal for sniping, and assault. There are 4 settings for the beams: they are single fire (one quick beam shot for every time the trigger is pulled), automatic (hold down the trigger for a steady stream of laser), and charge fire (hold down then let go to make things go boom Very Happy). On the bottom of the rifle is a rather large blade with slots in the steel for bloodletting and for the wielder to put their hands to hold the gun.

Harbingers also have access to Eyes in the Sky for surveillance purposes

Attributes…

~I’ll Kill you with this Teacup
Cost: 3 Creation points
Your character has learned from the best of the best, and can utilize almost anything as a deadly weapon. You may even go to such lengths as running into battle with a bowl of soup. Whatever the case, any type of scenery used counts as either a super heavy ranged or super heavy melee weapon, depending on how it was used.

~Immunity
Cost: 3 Creation Points
You have risen through the ranks of the royal guards, and are at such a high class, you are practically the King of the Universe’s personal body guard. As such, you have new privileges. Awarded to you among other things, was a skin tight armor worn under the clothes. It seemed more like something to insolate heat, but does so much more. This little piece of fabric is made of material known to negate the effects of all psychic powers of the Cassius thrown at you. You laugh at Thanatos fiends as they attempt to blow you to shreds, as you continue to stroll out of the flames unscathed. Cythereans’ wild card abilities are automatically deflected when they come into contact with you. Undead monsters fall at your feet upon contact, once again lifeless. The only Cassius threats to you now would probably be the Vozhd. When fighting a horde or named that is Cassius, all psychic attacks on your character are reverted to 0.

Defects…

~Betrayal of Orders
Bonus: 2 Creation Points
Perhaps you have refused the king an order to assassinate innocent civilians, or maybe it was a misunderstanding. Whatever the case, you are in hot water with the King of the Universe. You have betrayed a direct order, and are now a wanted fugitive. You can never return to the space cities unless it is secretly, and if any members of clans from the space cities see you, they are authorized to take action and eliminate you.

Skills…

~Pillar of the Horizon
Costs: 4 Creation Points or 20 Gazebo Points
You have the ultimate trump card. When in doubt or if you just want to show off, press the button implanted in your uniform’s collar, and take cover. Almost simultaneously, a massive pillar of red death coming from the closest orbiting space city strikes the Earth, decimating everything it touches. In battle, you may use your last action in a round of combat to activate the pillar (the first ones should be spent either killing or running away). The above then happens. Damage is calculated by the GM rolling 10 6 sided dice + your character's level and the added amount is the amount of damage dealt.

~Grappling Hook
Costs: 2 Creation Point or 10 Gazebo Points
Once a Harbinger is on the surface of the Earth, it normally takes a while for a rendezvous to pick you up. Not so if you have this skill. Just attach the end of your cable to your beam rifle, and fire upward, and immediately you will be latched on to the nearest orbiting space city. While in combat and attached to a grappling hook, all damage dealt to you by non-flying creatures is reduced to 0. While in combat against flying enemies, your character receives a +2 attack bonus as long as they are grappled.
