In light of Michael Jackson's death.
Apparently people were sad when he died. Maybe not everyone, but a lot of people. Think about it; people feel sad when someone's dead. Why not feel sad knowing about the inevitable death we're all going to face? Isn't it that knowing that death can and will happen at any time is more depressing than the thought of the actual death, since it lingers with you until it actually happens? Sure, the pain of death is excruciating, but I suppose the pain of knowing each and every single day that it could happen any day must be worse, if you add all the days up.
Whatever. Mourning period's over. MJ was cool, made fantastic music. Rest in peace, see you on the waiting list, all that crap people say when people are dead. They probably don't mean it, either. They're probably just waiting in front of MJ's gates because they know they'll get on TV.

Also, same applies for Farrah Fawcett. Even though people weren't crowding in front of her place and that she didn't make cool music. May she rest in peace, too.

Point well said. Most of the debate going on now is why is no one paying attention to Fawcett's death. I think it's because everyone knew she was fighting death. Jackson was apparently healthy and alive, and no where near his time.
